Old Truck
Check out this old truck sitting out one night at Hualali’i Garage, aka Jimmy’s, in Holualoa. It was there for two nights and both nights I spent a couple hours taking pictures. Just dare me to bust out some more pics of this truck….

Kona Coffee Hawaii Welcomes You!
ALOHA! Welcome to Paradise. The Island of Big Smiles and Fresh Brewed Kona Coffee. We would like to share the story of our farm with you. Learn how coffee is planted, grown, harvested and roasted. Get pointers on how to make the Perfect Cup of coffee. Understand what Organic, Estate Grade, Premium, 100% Kona Coffee means.
Find out what makes the coffee from Kona taste so good and why it is one of the world’s most sought after coffees. And maybe, no matter where you live, you’ll get the chance to start your day in paradise, with a great cup of coffee and a big smile! Let the journey begin…
We are a small, privately owned and operated estate coffee farm posted on the side of Hualalai Mountain. Located at 1,500 ft above the town of Kailua-Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii, we live in the historic town of Holualoa. For over a hundred and fifty years premium coffee has been grown here, in the rich volcanic soil and the cool mountain air. We, as a family, have planted, grown, pruned, harvested, dried, roasted and bagged all of our own coffee to ensure the quality of every cup. We guarantee you will enjoy the smooth, full body flavor of Downes Grounds everyday, just like we do, way out here in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
So let your questions fly! Hit us with with anything! What do you want to know… how to use a French Press, how much coffee to brew at a time or the difference between medium, dark and cafe’ coffee roasts? Ask us how to plant coffee, prune new growth, pick beans and the process of drying and roasting. We will even tell you what the weather is like here in Kona today, how much rain we recorded in the rain gage and what the surf forecast looks like for the week! So leave us a comment and a link to yourself and we’ll bring a smile, the Aloha and cups of Kona Coffee!
